"There is something intrinsically magical in wood - the living tree creates a vast array of colours, patterns and figure that combine to offer a treasure trove of possibilities”. This is the basis of all John’s work - to take the rough wood, cut, shape, sand and finish - to create pieces that feel good to the touch, are pleasing to the eye and above all have a sense of something special.

John began working with wood full-time in 1993 and is now based in South East Queensland. John sources most of his wood from the arid North and West of the State, seeking out the unusual and little known species to add that extra colour and difference. Each piece is individually handcrafted to the highest standard.
