ABOUT BIRDMAKERS

From their studio in Perth, Andre and Cathy van Niekerk create these unique and wonderful birds.  Australia’s rich bird life, together with Andre’s prodigious knowledge of birds, their character and anatomy, inspired them initially to produce this beautiful range of mixed media bird sculptures which have found their way into the hearts and homes of Collectors worldwide.

Each bird is individually handcrafted out of seasoned timber and their heads hand-cast and painted with the finest artists’ oils.  They are finished with a tough lacquer that will retain its lustre for many years to come.

The Wozos range is a unique collection of whimsical caricatures, some based on real birds and other purely fantastical.
